Local Feed cache enabled

Monday, April 10th, 2006

In the interest of saving bits, I turned the local Feed cache back on.

If you find a feed that’s not updating let us know and we’ll take care of it. There are some servers out there that don’t seem to play nice with our caching. I’m working on the issue with the FeedTools author.

IE, Smart Feed status update II

Monday, April 10th, 2006

So in all my futzing with CSS etc. for the IE fixes I managed to break the layout, a bunch of fonts are bigger than they should be… Feel free to yell at me, Neil already did.

I think Neil is cleaning up the mess I made, I may be a little quiet this week, I need some time to clear the head.

The Smart Feeds should be happy now, and I believe that the feeds are updating as they should, though I wont be sure until tomorrow.

IE, Smart Feed status update

Sunday, April 9th, 2006

So Internet Explorer is much better than it was on Friday. It’s far from perfect, but it’s getting there

The Smart Feed fix is working away in the background, if the app feels slow that’s the reason.

The default theme has been changed from the Orange to Blue, if you want the Orange back just click on the theme icon Theme icon and select it.

Smart Feeds, Search & Updates

Sunday, April 9th, 2006

So I noticed some oddities in the Smart Feeds and the search results, upon digging I found a mismatched link back to the items, oops.

If you’ve been online since Friday evening you have probably noticed there haven’t been any new items showing up in your feeds, I needed to disable updates while handling the fix for this due to the fact that the current hardware this is running on isn’t anywhere near beefy enough to support much load beyond what it currently has.

I’m hoping this process will be done by the end of the weekend (local time), sorry for the inconvienence, the joys of using an early beta site.

It’s been quiet way too long

Saturday, April 8th, 2006

It’s been quiet and it’s pretty much my fault. I’ve been trying to get IE to play nice with the existing code, visually it looks good (Thanks Neil), functionally it’s got some issues.

I’ll be gutting the UI and restructuring some things to make cross browser hell a little less hellish. I’ll be cleaning up some UI bugs while I’m at.
